What a Porch Builder in Alpharetta, GA Brings to Your Home

Alpharetta homes tend to have good bones and generous lots, and a lot of them are missing one thing: a real porch you actually sit on. A covered front porch that greets you at the end of Old Milton Parkway. A back porch off the kitchen where morning coffee happens before the day gets loud.

We build both. Open porches for the homes that want sun and a breeze, and covered porches for the ones that want shade, a ceiling fan, and a roof that keeps a summer downpour off the furniture.

I’m Greg, and my team has been building outdoor living across North Metro Atlanta since 2007. A porch is architecture attached to your house, so we treat it that way. The roofline has to agree with your existing rooflines. The columns have to carry weight and look right from the street. The ceiling overhead should feel as finished as any room inside.

That’s the difference between a porch that looks added-on and one that looks like it was always meant to be there.

What Alpharetta Homeowners Say

Most of our porch clients tell us the same thing after move-in: they had no idea how much time they’d end up spending out there.

We would highly recommend Peachtree Decks and Porches to anyone who is looking for reliable, solid work that is up to code in your area. Everyone was so professional throughout the entire process.

Greg was amazing at walking us through the project and helping us pick out our design and materials. Mike and Alonso were amazing to work with during the actual porch construction.

Thank you Peachtree Decks and Porches for your attention to detail and quality work!

So, What Does a Porch Actually Run?

Porches are custom, so the honest answer is that the number follows the design. Our outdoor living projects generally start around $30,000, which is a good baseline to plan against before we scope your specific porch.

A few choices move the figure more than anything else:

On financing, we work with Acorn Finance for larger projects and Advancial for loans up to $30,000, interest-free for one year. A design fee applies unless your project is a full turnkey design build, and we’ll walk you through exactly how that works up front.

How Your Porch Comes Together

01

Design First

We start at your house, walking your rooflines, your entry, your back door, and how you want to use the space, then put a real design on paper.

02

Structure and Approval

We engineer the roof and columns to carry load correctly, pull the permits, and handle the HOA submittal. We’ve had no HOA design rejections to date.

03

The Build

Our crews frame the roof, set the columns, finish the ceiling, and lay the floor, keeping the site clean and keeping you updated as it goes.

04

Move-In

You get a porch that’s ready to live on, backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty.

What Sets Our Porches Apart

We design rooflines and columns that belong to your house, so the porch reads as part of the original build.

Tongue-and-groove ceilings, layered lighting, and clean trim mean the view up is as good as the view out.

We use low-maintenance, high-performance products so your porch looks right through humid summers and wet springs.

Design, permits, HOA approval, and construction all run through us, so nothing falls between two contractors.

Frequently Asked Questions

An open porch has no roof, so it’s really a finished, often railed platform for sun and open air. A covered porch adds a roof, columns, and usually a finished ceiling, which gives you shade, rain protection, and a spot for fans and lighting.
Yes. Matching the architecture is a big part of the job. We tie the new roof into your existing lines and coordinate columns, trim, and finishes so the porch looks original to the house.
Almost always, yes, and we handle both. We pull the required permits and prepare the HOA submittal for you. We’ve had no HOA design rejections to date.
It depends on size, roof complexity, and permitting, but most porch projects run a few weeks of on-site work once approvals are in hand. We give you a real timeline before we start.
No. A covered porch is open on the sides under a roof. A screened porch adds screening to close it in against bugs. We build both, and we can design a covered porch now that’s ready for screening later if you want that option.
Absolutely. A porch fireplace extends your season into the cooler months, and we can plan structure, gas, and clearances for a fireplace or a cooking area as part of the original design.

Alpharetta sits in northern Fulton County and has grown into one of metro Atlanta’s most livable suburbs, with a walkable downtown, the shops and restaurants of Avalon, and long stretches of greenway along Big Creek. It’s the kind of place where people invest in their homes and spend real time outdoors, so a well-built front or back porch fits right into how the community lives.
